The Rise and Fall of "Safed Topis"

Today is a hilarious and joyous day for me, right from the last year when the Anna lead Lok Pal Fasts started there were speculations of people and some of the political critics that the whole story which is being built by Anna , Kejriwal Is to gain flaming attention towards there So called ”CIVIL SOCIETY”. Finally the declaration by the Kejriwal and other key protagonist’s made the clock of wait stop for me and any of the critics.

The declaration of Anna and party to foray into politics, will be adding to the list of the cause of delay to LOK pall bill. 44 years have passed and still we stand at a point where we are seeing just left and right as we are just preparing ourselves to cross the road none of the political party members and members of civil society are thinking of seeing the road ahead, towards achieving the objective of enacting the Jan Lok pal bill. I had lot of debates with the admirers of ANNA drama about the authenticity of some key people and their objective behind forming this public movement.

Objectionable clauses of Jan Lok pal Bill (Civil Society Draft)

Right in the end of the year 2012 (in the finale winter session of Parliament) the tactical brain 

of congress flabbergasted the plan and the draft of Jan Lok pall bill.... that movement was the

 most vital point for the movement when it was at the peak point. Like rocket it came tumbling

 back after the session when the votes of house were not sufficient for passing the draft. 

You may call it an ass-saving approach of the ministers or the unacceptable clauses of the 

civil society’s Lok pal bill.

The stringent behavior of Civil Society for forming their draft of Lok Pal only later in the 

year end was suspicion raising moment for the people when “Safed Topis” refused to 

accept the Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s Lok Pal Bill draft it gave rise to the suspicion that the 

a peaceful and non political congregation of masses has transformed into a team of 

defenders defending there prestige. “Safed Topis ” can’t afford to lose the masses 
which they have enraptured by enormous efforts by accepting any less 

than the civil society’s draft. The question which rose to my mind then was that 

are they taking advantage of the crowd to get to the place where they want to be

 at the national level.

From last 44 years India is being struck by low growth rate high inflation, low employment opportunities ....people are frustrated because of these indicators of slow down. They needed somewhere to went out, safed topis came u with a cause “to fight against corruption” to gain the lime light. The dream of the society was crushed due to their own fragile egos and which was backed up by the political thinking (that we settled for any less we will be losers in the whole process),so they needed this movement to get  more fierce where they can topple the chair of congress, this could have been achieved by the safest strategy of” Ghandian principles” which needed few supporters , renewed faces in politics, society and few people who had an exemplary public image. 

But soon the crescendo was broken in series of incidents:

1. Police attack on Jantar Mantar
2.  Baba Ramdev’s lack of leadership, where he ran away in women costume.
3. And final blow in the parliament where the bill was presented.

These incidents made the movement of Anna die out soon, now the lime light is gone for sometime but still youth of India is directed towards one cause “corruption free India”. The pill of corruption free India was given to masses as if once the money in the Swiss bank account is brought to India it will be a heaven, FDI will come back to India, poverty will vanish from the face of earth.

But nobody asks the question how that currency bills will help India? India is already in the condition of Demand pull inflation where the goods in the economy are not sufficient to cater the needs of the people while people are ready to buy goods at higher rate also.

Now again in the last week Safed Topis came back from hibernation and tried to form a movement again to free India from corruption by black mailing govt. by going for indefinite fasts. Finally today the die out of the movement written by its Topiwalas by declaring that they will be forming an independent party.from my point of view this is nothing but an honorable exit from the cause.

Forming a political party is a big task which consumes time and to sustain and build up a movement like this again after a year or so is easier said than done. May be the new party of them will be in alliance of BJP or some other anti-congress party and this whole scenario which Is happening from last 2 years comes to light and Indian population comes to know what happens when one doesn’t ask questions how easily one gets trapped in the political lies.
