UNEXPLAINED CONTRADICTION...

Today I AM disturbed and feeling sad for a 3 year old kid, a pregnant wife of 30 years and for the and for the person whose lying today on death bed and I was felling helpless, there loss Is unmeasurable and unimaginative . I am not sure how to put this in words but the loss here about which I am talking about is not only the loss of life but a loss of humanity, a loss of life and moreover a loss of a warrior.

Months back, when I saw Aman lying in the bed helpless I was in tears and was trying to comprehend what a person like Aman would be going through right now who has given everything for his beloved people but now that same person I lying there In front of me helplessly seeking for death to come . Few day back when I got a news from his wife that his heart ceased and he finally died completely. I didn't know what to say to her . It was for the first time in my life that I was dumbstruck and was fumbling for words today I lost a friend a brother and a person whom I had admired the most in my life.

Aman was a dear friend of mine since the school time . I would rather say he was a person a perfect balance of a friend and family . I Being orphaned at a very early age never came to know about the comfort and meaning of family , till the time I met Aman in my formative years of school. I began visiting his house and came to know how a person called mother (ma) feels, how mother cares for the child, till than I never felt I was deprived by the nature from any comfort of life but suddenly this new definition of family and mother flabbergasted me and annihilated my kingdom comfort.. Aman knew the loss of a parent , he lost his father in the militant attack Lal Chowk firing in 1993 ,when he was in his Shikara a wild bullet struck in his head and he was dead on the spot. Aman was of 8 years then when the misfortune befallen on him and hi mother , his mother used to work on the shikara aftermath and used to earn a meager income . The rate of deterioration of the social condition of valley and economic condition of Aman's home was same . It felt like valley had deep relation with Aman . Being a person who has seen difficulties of life he was close to the realities . He was focused in studies, because for him studies were the only way by doing which he could get a good job and could help his mother.

MOVING AHEAD IN THE TIME FRAME:-

It was my 20th birthday Aman came to me he was not looking well and his face was ashen-ed , pale and looked the Same when he got the new of his father's death. I half-jokingly asked him “who died?why are you looking pale and sick?”. He saw me right in my eyes and told nobody died but is dying as we are talking. I asked him to explain me what he was talking about. Yar amijaaan …...... he started crying ,asked what happened to Amijaan? He was crying for quite a time unable to speak I grabbed his shoulders and shook him hard asked him what damn happened to Amijaan?
He was again mute just the muffled cries were coming from his throat .i could no longer restrain myslef to know what happened to Ammijan so I ran towards his house towards_cheeni chowk . From quite a distance I saw black smoke rising in the sky, people hurling and running for buckets of water , I couldn't believe what I was seeing I wanted to get faint,to die, to wake up from a bad dream all at a same time. But I want prepared to see the next thing I turned towards hi house and it was visible now form the Khan Bazar Road. The houses in the Aman's colony were burning in the high flames and people were trying to douse the fire . I ran at my fast pace , I was running nreathlesssly towards his house. Uddenly I felt jolted and I got tripped over something , I tried to stand up again but my hand slipped watching in the direction of Aman's house I never noticed why I tripped what was the thing on which I tripped . People came to my rescue they wiped of dust from my white kurta but the thing they could'nt wipe and will not be able to wipe from my mind was the human blood on my white kurta I fainted the second I saw the thing on which I tripped.

It was hell of a lot paining my ankle got dislocated with the injury .I had hazy memory about what happened in the morning. It tried to remember hard and make connections about the happenings. Suddenly I felt a comforting touch , somebody gabbed my hand with the soft hands , it was a relief to know somebody Is there beside my hospital bed to help me. I turned my head slowly my neck hurted a bit . But it was manageable , when I saw a familiar face of my friend Aman . He had a stint of joy , smile on his face and his eyes were teary . None of us poke for a moment , we wanted to remain silent forever , I didn't wanted to know what happened earlier this morning . He stood up and was going to leave , he strode across the room and was about to exit , but came back and hugged me and started crying . I didn't asked him neither he told me anything about the happenings of the day . He just stood there taking me in his arms and continued to cry for a long time. After an hour or so the silence in the gloomy room was broken by the nurse, she came in for a routine check up and told me that earlier this morning I was brought here in unconscious condition , which was because of the anxiety attack which I suffered because I saw blood oozing out from a dead body of a bomb blast victim. she spoke like nothing has happened I felt like I am again given a new scar on my soul . My people again have suffered because of some misguided jihad-is . I felt a pain in my heart , I could feel my opthalmic artery pounding in my head gushing with the blood of vengeance I wanted to get out of the bed and wanted to kill those bastards who killed my people my friends father and now hi mother was dying with 96% burns ….. But all the pounding stopped every thing felt silent only the sound I could hear was of the cold January end wind blowing out on the fresh snow . Only one fear was now in my head what Aman ha to tell me I regarding amijann?.......the news should be good or else I will be devastated again …...but now that will be forever..my senses of affection will be doused off if any unfortunate thing happened to her... Aman turned to me and looked with with the small strained eyes of his and his silence told me all but still I couldn't believe that the lady, the person who made me well versed with the relationship of mother and defined a term family for me I no more and was dead because of Militant bombing in cheeni chowk..

I was heart broken we two were sitting in the room and staring at each other with teary eyes now I became orphaned once more now the pain searing in my chest rose to throat and became a lump I couldn't speak anything I couldn't console my brother I cant hug him I froze in the chilly evening and laid there still staring towards Aman.

We didn't talked for a two or three days we didn't knew what to say to each other for a long time the loss of mother was same for both of us we couldn't console each other . The fire vengeance was avenging in me but Aman looked calmer and contented with the condition of the valley . Soon he became self-involved and He moved on with his life he left the studies and started working at the lake in place of his mother in the shikara.. I tried to convince him to study but all went down the drain he was too broken to hear all anything. With the passage of time things started to heal up but the memoirs were still were fresh the bombings, bullets, militants lal chowk ke kisse keep on happening don't know when it will end.

Opportunities for educated people were shrinking with every passing day, so I decided to move away from Kashmir after completing my graduation to Delhi as I was getting a respectable job there in travel industry. I advised Aman to leave with me to Delhi where he could have found a work but he imply denied he wanted to live and take his last breath where his parent took their's . he refused to come out of the rotting heaven on earth. With a very heavy heart I took depart from the valley on august 23 19__
and came to delhi …......

Time passed 4 years later I came back to valley to my orphanage's get together . It filled me with happiness that I was getting a chance an excuse to visit my land where I grew up. And moreover I was going to meet my friend Aman again. I reached Kashmir, srinagar on 27 October 19__.
I passed from lal chowk , entire chowk is was defaced now the building are torn down near the center of activity in Kashmir. Army men were on each every corner of the road and nowhere it look like my own beloved Kashmir which it used to look few years back........
I traveled across the city to reach the road and when I reached there I saw a kwateen in front of Aman's house who was having a broom in her hand and was cleaning the house. On asking her I came to know that lady in front of the house was the wife of Aman , I told her about me , in an instant she told me about me and Aman's adventures our stories of childhood and she told me that Aman used to talk about our friendship and the time time we spent together . Upon asking about the well being of Aman her joy faded away he was no longer smiling and talking . Her eyes went numb . I asked again about Aman. She then asked me to come with her he guided me to a room ...it was a same room where her mother dead body was found 5 year back ….he was lying on a bed and looked all weak and wrecked ...his face lighted up upon seeing me... he kept on lying on the bed and made no move to move and hug me ...i tried to say salam wale kum and waited for his reply ...no reply came from other side … I was baffled that what has happened to my friend . I looked back at hi wife she standing on the doorway with her numb eyes//

Aman tried to rise from bed but couldn't he tried to speak but it was just a hum of some sound from his vocal cords I could hear....in this while Aman's wife brought me a chair I sat near Aman and she sat on he bed near Aman's feet , she started to tell that 3 year back when they got married , a short while after Aman started having back pains and started felling numbness in the toes … on the first diagnosis doctors thought it was because of the strenuous nature of work of his he I getting this problem....they advised to rest for few days … which he did and felt somewhat better but soon after that in a week or so he was unable to stand his feet went cold and he diagnosed by paralysis...he was completely broken aafter that..according to doctors it happened because of the condition named Lumbar spinal steno sis which Is a rare disorder in which the spinal cord vertebrates tarts narrowing down and the patient looe the locomotion ability and then slowly a spinal column narrow the nerves are pressed and the body ceases to function …....and the patient and hi family has to wait till the time the heart functioning ceases..

a lump formed in my throat I wanted to vent out all my anger vengeance and agitation on the people because of whom Aman suffered and wasn't able to all those things which a man of his age would have had done …. but I had to control my feeling because I have a friend to console..... I moved to outside in the veranda to let the moment pass of me . What I should think in the situation like this I was unable to comprehend what was happening from last 1 hour to me it too much to ingest . I turned my back to the room and got off the veranda stairs and stopped a rickshaw and told him to go towards lal chowk . I turned my back from a friend once again I didn't had enough courage to see in his eye and say everything will be alright in a short while …

after I received the call of Aman's wife informing me of demise of Aman I thought was It right on my part to get off the curb after all those years of sharing and caring ….

Review A ROOM

COVER PAGE OF NOVEL PAPERBACK

Hi friends here again with a new review of new novel of EMMA DONOGHUE named as A ROOM. It’s a novel which when you see ,you will just feel what an author write n 100 or 150 pages but this novel is the he one which makes the saying true that whether you play a small duration role in a play or you play a full length character in play an artist’s main focus is to leave an impact on the audience. And EMMA has done justice to her readers.
Briefly telling you about the novel it is a story is narrated from the point of view of a five year old child who has gone through the miserable conditions but what makes the things worse is the room?
A room is a novel which takes you along with it and you sink and sail with it. You move with the little JACK and see sometimes see JACK from his MA’S eyes. You will imagine the room and how are the walls of the room, how the digital lock guards the door from his inhabitants and seals them inside the room. It’s story is based on the forced confinement and exploitation by the opposite sex.the story become more gruesome and pathetic when in the initial plot a five year old child named JACK comes into the picture and he starts with the line that “Today I'm five. I was four last night going to sleep in Wardrobe, but when I wake up in Bed in the dark I'm changed to five, abracadabra. Before that I was three, then two, then one, then zero. "Was I minus numbers?"a child sleeps in the wardrobe and tells his tale of living in A ROOM happily.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT IN THIS NOVEL?
 ROOM GRAPHICS
Room is the world for the five year old boy JACK. His rugs, the walls of the room, his ma, his television, the sunlight coming through the slit f the window are the things with which he was well versed with according to him that was the world and he was happy with the world in which he lives in and plays in.......THE CHARACTER OF JACK IS an innocent character who struggles to adjust in the new world in which he and his ma comes to live in again it becomes a big challenge for our little guy JACK to adjust in . His knowledge of the outside world comes to him from a sole source i.e. the television which was given to them by their captivator OLD NICK. The wait off the characters for the Sunday treat and the wait for the groceries at the end of the day, wait for the common necessities makes them a demand driven beings and gives a shape to the story. Our jack loves the character name DORA the explorer who gives jack a flight of fantasy, but his ma limits his television habits by saying that his mind will decay like OLD NICK if watches television. They do "phys ed" every morning, keep to strict mealtimes, make up poems, sing Lady Gaga and Kylie, and most importantly, Ma has a seemingly endless supply of stories – from the Berlin Wall and Princess Di ("Should have worn her seat belt," says Jack) to fairytales like Hansel and Gretel to hybrids in which Jack becomes Prince Jackerjack, Gullijack in Lilliput: his mother's own fairytale hero. And really, what is a story of a kidnapped girl locked in a shed with her long-haired innocently precocious boy if not the realization of the most macabre fairy tale?
a room has some of the structural qualities it was made of five layers of materials to restrict the sound from going outside.once ma tried to escape from A ROOM (jack's birth) but was unsuccessful and as a result her living condition worsens and soon is burdened by an illicit child from her abductor .soon her boredom vanishes in the care of the child but no sooner the thoughts of he big escape ame into the day of light when JACK turns five and then the breakthrough and they have a escape from a room and there life never remains same after that ......................

CHARACTERS REVIEW:

THE character are very nicely fabricated but i was not very pleased by the character of the old nick much emphasis could have been made on that particular character, but the detailing of that particular character could have been a little tricky because of the fact that , it would have shifted the focus of the novel from a child to old nick. So by it was a safe bet for the author too.

otherwise all in all it was novel which came up with a fresh concept and touched the sensitive issue of "human captivity and exploitation",

RATING ON THE SCALE OF 1 TO 10?

I WOULD LIKE TO RATE IT AT 8.5 AS IT HAS PRESENTED THE EMOTIONS OF A CHILD VERY EXCELLENTLY . WHOLE OF THE WRITING IS SUCCESSFUL IN LEAVING AN IMPACT ON THE READER . AS I SAID IN MY EARLIER BLOGS THAT A SUCCESSFUL NOVEL IS THAT WHICH MAKES THE READER SINK AND SAIL WITH THE FLOW OF IT . AND INDEED IT WAS ONE OF THE SUCCESSFUL NOVELS.

ADIOS GUYS WILL BE COMING BACK SOON WITH A NEW BLOG.

The Girl With Dragon Tattoo

Hi friends I am back with the review of the novel which i read last summer, this particular novel was a piece of work Of Stieg Larsson's concluding part of the Trilogy- MILLENNIUM. MILLENNIUM-3 is given a name THE GIRL WITH DRAGON TATTOO.

The backdrop of the story is set in the SWEDEN. It is a crime/thriller fiction, and investigative novel. It deals with the problems faced by the modern times Investigative journalists and it also high lights the problem in the guardianship system in the SWEDEN laws (the system in which the children who have childhood problems and their parents are not mentally and physically capable for upbringing of the children).

WHAT IS DIFFERENT IN THE NOVEL?

This novel is a different in the terms of the theme variation; it deals in crime investigation, social issues And corporate trickery widely spread in different countries. It also deals in the social issue of the guardianship Laws in which the protagonist of the plot is caught and is repeatedly abused by her guardian and to make the things Worse she don't report the matter in the police because of her personal inhibitions and misunderstanding with the Legal system. The character of the protagonist LISBETH SLANDER is a very cleverly fabricated character who dresses herself in heavy make-up. She looks nowhere near to a normal girl, basically writer has tried to portray the Mental condition of the character who had been repeatedly abused by the society for one reason or the other and tries to bury herself and her feelings in her work of private investigator (in she was best) and disguises herself in the heavy make-up, piercings and tattoos to make her repulsive, so that no male attention is Caught due to her feminine features. She is represented here in the plot as a girl with troubled childhood and parental problems, and suffering With anti-social and aggressive behavior. Which gets her institutionalized and she is exposed to the guardianship System and under which she gets sexually abused by her guardian , which makes the matters more worse for her. The main lead of the novel MIKAEL BLOMKVIST is also an interesting character who is an investigative Journalist and works in unveiling the secrets and the corporate honchos. And his investigative abilities take him to the voyage of solving a 40 year old murder mystery of the granddaughter of the famous industrialist VANGER.

In totality, this novel is mixture of many thrills and adventures. What is particularly different in this work is the multi-dimensional personality of the characters and the fascinating story base which creates a Spark of curiosity in the readers mind and forces a reader to think what happens next?

SUMMARY:

SHOT OF LISBETH SLANDER FROM MOVIE

Meanwhile Slander meets her newly appointed legal guardian Nils Bjurman. in her younger days Lisbeth was socially hostile and failed to cooperate with legal system and her unresponsiveness to respond to the queries asked by the teachers in her school earned her a tag of psycho and opened the doors to counselors and physiologists. And due to her condition she was put under guardianship system  at the age of 18.Guardian is person who is legally responsible for the conduct of the ward and has a full authority over the funds of the ward. Despite being far from mentally incompetent, Slander has never attempted to overturn this ruling, as her first legal guardian did not intrude greatly into her life or her affairs, and managed to earn her respect. Her first guardian has since suffered a major stroke however, and so Bjurman has now been assigned to take over her case.

Nils Bjurman was a sadist and control freak to his wards. He was recently divorced and had insatiable sexual drive. He tries to exploit the wards for the sexual favors and when it comes to Lisbeth Slander, she was not much different from the former lot of exploited wards of  Nils Bjurman. Nils Bjurman forces Lisbeth to surrender her financial accounts to him and here started the control process. Lisbeth when in need of some money approached Bjurman in his office he firstly refused, but later asked for his personal favor. She felt like killing Bjurman but due to her previous learning’s of "NOT ACTING ON IMPULSE" she held herself back. having no faith in ht e legal system she took the matter in here hands and took some spy cameras and recording systems from her office and rigs Bjurman's place and then it again it happened she was repeatedly abused, raped and tortured and at some point she even feared for her life. She bled for many days and remain isolated and didn't returned to her work at Milton Security. But the story was different now she had evidence now of Bjurman's ominous deeds. She retaliates a few days later by incapacitating him with a taser, tying him up, anally violating him with one of his own sex toys. She also forces him to watch the recording of the tape and threatens to make it public unless he arranges for her to have permanent control over her own accounts. Before she leaves, she tattoos "I am a sadistic pig, a pervert, and a rapist" in large letters on his torso.

BLOMKVIST got busy in the case of Harriet and learns some new things which nobody had noticed in all these years. He later came to know about the investigation taken up by Henrik Vanger about BLOMKVIST and enquirers about the investigator. He discovers that The investigator Lisbeth had hacked into his computer and penetrated herself deep into the Millennium's technological systems to dig put information about him. Recognizing her talents he asks Lisbeth to join him in the investigation of Harriet and finally hires her. Together they discover many evidences of regarding the case. The major breakthrough was the diary of Harriet in which some names and against whom some numbers where written. This leads them to murder spree in SWEDEN which were related to the BIBLE verses and were undertaken in a ritualistic manner representing divine retribution. After enormous efforts they dug out the killer who was Harriet's father Gottfried. Blomkvist and Slander eventually become lovers, but Blomkvist has trouble getting close to Slander; she is an introverted loner who treats virtually everyone she meets with hostility.

Later they both discovered that Martin Harriet's brother who was also the C.E.O. of VANGER companies was behind the murders and disappearances of many, migrant women and was serial killer who was trained by his father Gottfried. Gottfried also sexually abused Martin and Harriet. Blomkvist attempts to confront Martin, but Martin overpowers him, kidnaps him and takes him to a torture chamber hidden in the basement of his house. Martin says that despite all of his other crimes, he is not responsible for Harriet's death or disappearance. He had planned to kill Harriet eventually, but she disappeared before he could take any action. As Martin is about to kill Blomkvist, Lisbeth bursts in and attacks Martin with a golf club, rescuing Blomkvist. Lisbeth frees Blomkvist as Martin escapes and flees in his car. She pursues him on her motorcycle to the highway, where she sees him purposely drive into the ongoing traffic and kill himself.

Blomkvist and Lisbeth discussed the disappearance of Harriet and found a connection that would lead them to Harriet. They, later realized that Harriet was not murdered nor she was kidnapped she eloped from the island that day with the help of Cecilia's sister Anita, Who was one of her best friends. She disappeared in order to escape from her brother, who had been joining their father in sexually abusing her. Using contacts of Lisbeth's hacking community they hacked the phone lines of Cecilia (who lived in Stockholm) and Tracked down Harriett in Australia living under a pseudo name She has had children with her late husband, a man she married while in hiding in Italy. When Confronted by BLOMKVIST, she confirms their account of the case, she also reveals that she was actually responsible for the death of her father (until then presumed accidental). She returns to Sweden, where she is happily reunited with her uncle Henrik and begins to take a leading role in the newly leaderless family business.

Blomkvist reluctantly agrees with Henrik not to publish any article related to Martin and his torture room. He assures Henrik to keep the dark secrets of the family to himself. But in return asks for the compensation to the victim's families . Later he came to know that the evidence of Wennerström which Henrik promised him to give at end of the year, was merely a hoax to lure Blomkvist in the case of Harriet. Because after so many years even Henrik was sure that Blomkvist will get any major breakthrough in the case.

Later Slander breaks into Wennerström’s computer and discovers that his crimes go beyond even what Blomkvist was convicted of libel for printing. Using the evidence she found, Blomkvist prints an expose article and book which destroys Wennerström, who is later found dead under suspicious circumstances. The exposé catapults Blomkvist and Millennium to national prominence.

Ratings (My Favorite critic's part):
MY personal rating to this novel on the scale of 1-10 is 9. As it had everything to excite the reader :- a mystery, murder, suspense, thrill, and proper pace of events the way they happen in this novel is exemplary as they are set in perfect chronological order . And the most important thing it had certain amount of difficulty in the plot specifically where the murder spree of Gottfried is presented and it's intricately related to the bible verses creates the curiosity in the readers mind. Moreover the plot goes i crescendo slow start and maintains the pace with the reader , then it gains momentum tickles the thinking power, and then present the solution and towards the end (when Harriet is found) it limbers down the agony of finishing the novel and all the excitement of the mystery.

So concluding the thing all in all it's a Paisa Vasool (VALUE FOR MONEY) novel.

THE KITE RUNNER REVIEW

Khaled Hosseini's master work of literature in the novel THE KITE RUNNER takes you to his motherland and land which has seen the extreme atrocities several wars to gain independence from the foreign people. It is an unforgettable story and so powerful that it leaves the impact on the reader. It has showed the socio-economic situation at the time when Taliban used to rule on the land of Afghanistan.

It showed the important aspect of the society prevailing in the pre-taliban era, the powerful patriarchal society in which the mullahs and the people related to the religion of Islam were holding  the paramount position in the minds of the masses.Khaled Hossreini's work has opened the windows of access of the world tragic historical account of the landlocked country. The novel gave the in-depth picture of the Talibani government and their wingman's how they exploited the children for their pedophilia, how they exploited the rules and laws of Sharīʿah (thecode of conduct or rilgious law of islam)and used for their ulterior motives for executing the women on the petty charges in the public on the football grounds.

SUMMARY
Basically this novel starts with the story of two young boys in there pre-teens named,Amir(from wealthy family and politically powerful family)and Hasan(son there servant and is shia Muslim). There friendship blossoms to the point Hasan becomes the apple of the eyes of Amir's father. And after that the foundations of there friendships were annihilated by some acts of Amir for which he fells guilty through his entire life and find ways to pay back the debt of his unkindness and iniquitous deeds done to Hasan. Latter part of it deals with the grown up Amir in which he struggles to clutch back and tries to hold on to the life, comforts and his dying father(Baba).

The story is topped up by the kindling love story of Amir and Soraya(refugee from Afghanistan and (father is colleague of Amir's father) there struggle with a young boy Sohrab(son of Hasan) to bring him to normal life after suffering from the trauma of becoming the target of pedophilia.

WHY I LIKED IT?
Any person who has read this novel is impressed by the writng style of Khaled hosseini: the simplicity of language, lucidity of thoughts, presentation of stark reality and a fiction which is not merely a fabrication of someone's thought but based on pure facts and realities. and my view point is not very much different form the people but it's a modified one.If i have to rate this novel on the scale of 1-10,my rating would be 8.5.As there is always a room for improvement(needless to say). It's not a perfect 10 because every person has a different view point of seeing a situation which arises in a fiction work , I differ from writer's view point in few places but it's pretty acceptable as it is a work of fiction till the time fiction doesn't push you to modify the story its one of the major motives remains unfulfilled.
