THE KITE RUNNER REVIEW

Khaled Hosseini's master work of literature in the novel THE KITE RUNNER takes you to his motherland and land which has seen the extreme atrocities several wars to gain independence from the foreign people. It is an unforgettable story and so powerful that it leaves the impact on the reader. It has showed the socio-economic situation at the time when Taliban used to rule on the land of Afghanistan.

It showed the important aspect of the society prevailing in the pre-taliban era, the powerful patriarchal society in which the mullahs and the people related to the religion of Islam were holding  the paramount position in the minds of the masses.Khaled Hossreini's work has opened the windows of access of the world tragic historical account of the landlocked country. The novel gave the in-depth picture of the Talibani government and their wingman's how they exploited the children for their pedophilia, how they exploited the rules and laws of Sharīʿah (thecode of conduct or rilgious law of islam)and used for their ulterior motives for executing the women on the petty charges in the public on the football grounds.

SUMMARY
Basically this novel starts with the story of two young boys in there pre-teens named,Amir(from wealthy family and politically powerful family)and Hasan(son there servant and is shia Muslim). There friendship blossoms to the point Hasan becomes the apple of the eyes of Amir's father. And after that the foundations of there friendships were annihilated by some acts of Amir for which he fells guilty through his entire life and find ways to pay back the debt of his unkindness and iniquitous deeds done to Hasan. Latter part of it deals with the grown up Amir in which he struggles to clutch back and tries to hold on to the life, comforts and his dying father(Baba).

The story is topped up by the kindling love story of Amir and Soraya(refugee from Afghanistan and (father is colleague of Amir's father) there struggle with a young boy Sohrab(son of Hasan) to bring him to normal life after suffering from the trauma of becoming the target of pedophilia.

WHY I LIKED IT?
Any person who has read this novel is impressed by the writng style of Khaled hosseini: the simplicity of language, lucidity of thoughts, presentation of stark reality and a fiction which is not merely a fabrication of someone's thought but based on pure facts and realities. and my view point is not very much different form the people but it's a modified one.If i have to rate this novel on the scale of 1-10,my rating would be 8.5.As there is always a room for improvement(needless to say). It's not a perfect 10 because every person has a different view point of seeing a situation which arises in a fiction work , I differ from writer's view point in few places but it's pretty acceptable as it is a work of fiction till the time fiction doesn't push you to modify the story its one of the major motives remains unfulfilled.
